Everything is going swimmingly

As we've gotten back into the swing of things this year, we also began an infant swim class at a local community center. We're taking the class with many of the families from our Saturday baby play group, and it's been lots of fun getting the kiddos acclimated to the water and trying to get them interested in the basics of blowing bubbles, kicking, and dunking.

Sadly, photos are prohibited in the pool area, because the little lineup of wet babies in their bright swimsuits is quite a treat!

Mid-January Update

We had busy and exciting holidays. Arlo enjoyed spending Christmas in Salem with his grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He really enjoys all of the gifts he received, but let's face it: he likes the toys best.

For New Years, we rented a house with a number of our friends in Deep Creek, Md, overlooking the lake, town and ski-resort. You can see in the photos below that the view was spectacular. Arlo was had a great time playing of the floor with his friend Sophia while the big people celebrated with food, drink and games.

The mobility update goes like this--he is crawling. After we got back he started putting one hand and knee in front of the other, and now gets around at will. And with that, it seems like he is doing new stuff every day. He grabs things and tries pulling himself up. He is interested in everything. Needless-to-say, the baby-proofing of the house is in full swing.
