Arlo at the sitters.

Arlo goes to our friends house every Friday for a few hours. He loves playing with his friend Emi and her mom. It's great. On Wednesday's, we entertain Emi at our house. Also a lot of fun. It works out so both parents get a few hours to themselves. I pack a lot into my six hours, and sometimes that's rest. Today, however, I have been busy cutting the grass, washing the truck and fitting in a small side job. And its only lunchtime!

Tomorrow we are intending to go to an event in Maryland called "Big Brew." It's a group of people who meet to brew beer on-site, while drinking beer. I took a beer making seminar there and the beer we made that day will be on tap. I'll report back how it was.

I have laryngitis for the first time ever. Arlo just thinks it's the whispering game.

Poor Ants

Arlo has been doing pretty well lately, besides the whole body rash that is. During the heat a couple of weeks ago, he got a rash. We don't know the exact cause but think it's tied to one or all of the following: heat, sunscreen, pollen, strawberries. He had large quantities of those. Now, the rash seems to have receeded except around the back of neck, back of knees etc. He's going to the doctor Thursday for a look see. Other than that, no problems.

We have been spending lots of time outdoors and he seems to enjoy it. There are lots of playgrounds to visit and we also to the Arboretum. Today we went and looked at the azaleas which are in full bloom. He likes to say Bzzzz when we around them because he hears the bees. He is also into bugs and ants. He used to let them walk by unharmed, but has started to smear them. He'll let just about any bug crawl on his arm, but if it falls off, he might just smash it. I saw the first big banana slug last night and I wonder what he'll do with one of those. We'll try not to have him get too messy.

Arlo Filling the Pool

We are having a mini heat wave here in early April. So we decided to get the pool out. Arlo had a lot of fun filling it up with the hose.

First Haircut

We went to Ohio a week ago and Arlo got his first haircut. Before the cut, he had donuts with his Great Aunt and Grandma. The picture is a good "before" photo. The barber did a great job. Arlo didn't mind the cut at all. He sat on my lap and seemed to enjoy himself.

Oldie but a Goodie

This video was taken during Christmas of 08. My niece just posted it on her Youtube account and it's great (the video as a whole, not necessarily the guitar player). Arlo will have music in his bones. McKayla, Mariah and Alayna already do.
