School Preparation

Well, it's starting to sink in that school is going to start soon. Arlo will attend pre-K at a charter school in our neighborhood with two other friends, Jack and Archer. We've been gathering the necessities - glue and crayons, the uniform, paperwork and even a visit to the dentist. Tomorrow I will see the school for the first time but Sam and Arlo visited last week and he's excited at the concept of school even though he doesn't know quite what that means. The program is full time - m-f and most of the day, with a nap in the middle. There's a Spanish language immersion and the school has Latin classes and foreign travel as a component of the lessons in higher grades. We're optimistic that it will go well but know it will be a big adjustment for all of us.

In preparation Arlo and Sam got haircuts today and they've got a visit to the dentist on Friday. I think he'll do great.
